More and more clients are asking our help with projects that involve sustainability; our team is increasingly exploring the topic, looking for cutting edge technology.
In order to exchange tips and experiences about what is happening around the world, a small group in the agency has decided to meet monthly exclusively for a one-hour talk about the topic. The encounter has become an internal gathering called Café Sustentável (Green Coffee).
In the monthly meeting, participants who are interested in the topic discuss different aspects of sustainability, from our proprietary methodology to assist clients on the topic, to examples of initiatives set up by them and other society actors, internal actions (such as our zero waste end-of-year Party) and all kinds of inspiration. Looking at key initiatives around the globe (and obviously at ours), we had an insight: does it still make sense to provide business cards for each of the agency employees? Do people really need business cards? Could we look at this issue from a more sustainable standpoint?
Bearing in mind that the first impression is what counts, we have decided to try something new and extinguish our business cards. Not exactly extinguish - but replace them. We have decided to create our CBA B+G Identity. It is a unique document – each one has its own – with a QR code holding the person’s contact information. This way, in addition to contributing to a more sustainable planet, we believe we will be sharing an interesting story through the card’s artwork.
To make the IDs, we held a hands-on screen-printing workshop with the whole team. Designers, strategists, attendants, producers, writers, financial analysts, the IT team, everyone, without exception, has created and printed its own identity card. Following CBA brand’s assets and color codes but adding each one’s personal touch.
It was fun, interactive, and original. Analog and technological at the same time. Innovative, authorial. Moreover, instead of being discarded, the print base art became a commitment document, a poster signed by everyone. This way, we established an everlasting connection – each one carries part of the artwork done and another part remains recorded on the agency wall, on posters displayed on a large board. A panel that holds the artwork, signatures, and the collective creation of a unique and true commitment.
